|ON AISLE 9 BLOG|
On September 15, 2011, Tara Girch of MarTar Swim School was featured in the blog "On Aisle 9". The blog's mission "is to enlighten those who want to be enlightened about the dynamics of raising a child with special needs." In their article titled "Making The Effort" the author and WCSC Channel 5 news reporter, Raphael James, tells the story about his autistic son who has a fear of water. Following this article link will take you to this fascinating story of how Mr. James met Tara Girch while covering the "Surfers Healing" event at Folly Beach; and how he personally put into action some of her insights on how to make swimming fun for kids with sensory issues. He soon became the "Marco Polo" king of their kiddie-sized pool!
Tara's interview with Mr. James may be viewed in this video link on the blog.
